The Steady Anchor

A rusty anchor sits by the shore with bare trees and rocks in Islamorada, FL.

Eleven years I chased the sun, Three times I fell, but I’m not done. For now, two years of “us” have passed, And I am holding you at last. I’m so thankful the “yes” finally came, And I get to whisper your beautiful name.

I love a heart that has so much to give, To God, to work, and the life that you live. I’m proud to stand beside your grace, And happy just to share this space. True love isn’t demanding the only spot, It’s cherishing the incredible bond we’ve got.

Lord, fill up the joyful beat in my chest, Because loving her is simply the best. If she puts You first and her family too, That just proves she’s faithful and true. Help me be the man who is strong and steady, Whatever she dreams, let her know I am ready.

Bless her heart, Lord, with Your grace and light, Make her future dazzling and bright. And fill my heart with gratitude and song, Knowing this is exactly where I belong. Walking with pride right by her side, With arms open wide and nothing to hide.

I choose to love, to laugh, and be here, Growing closer through every coming year. Two years is just the start of our story, A beautiful path we walk for Your glory.

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” — 1 Corinthians 13:7
